Success breeds success. This is the motto of the Black Tie Network. These three words must resonate within the consciousness of the minds of urban business leaders in order to reverse the trends of gentrification and to re-enfranchise our business districts with commerce and wealth. The Black Tie Network is an association of networking associations and business professionals. By tying together these groups we provide a portal that concentrates skills and resources creating a more efficient Mega-network.

There are thousands of business networks that already exist in our community. Gentrification has caused many of the networks to lose their effectiveness by displacing Black-owned businesses out of the community leaving an economic void, a decrease in property value and migration of prominent families into a more secure environment.

Our forefathers have taught us the power of unity. It is unfortunate that the buying power of our community is disproportionate to the success of our businesses. African Americans are reported to spend over 700 billion dollars on an annual basis. However, only a small percent of this money is spent supporting African American businesses.

The Black Tie Network will be strategic in the changing this trend. By networking resources and talents, we will attempt to promote commerce within our own community. Inspired by earlier Black Renaissance periods, our desire to provide upscale and elaborate galas will help motivate efforts for Success. The class of our events is another underlying meaning of Black Tie.
